Supplements launch: UGC-style video system for a DE brand

Demo case showing how a single “launch video” plus Shorts and thumbnail A/B can support product drops and evergreen discovery — without turning your channel into an ad feed.

This is a composite, anonymised scenario based on real projects. Use it as a template for how a Creator/Brand plan might support your next product launch.

Launch context

A German supplements brand preparing a new flavour launch. They already had paid campaigns and influencers lined up, but wanted their own YouTube channel to:

Objectives

  • Warm up the audience before launch day
  • Give performance creatives more “native” support
  • Test positioning angles for future product drops

Constraints

  • Limited in-house video resources
  • Short lead time (≈3 weeks)
  • Legal & compliance checks for claims

System we used for the launch

Instead of treating this as a “one-off video”, we plugged the launch into a simplified version of the Creator/Brand workflow.

Phase 1
Messaging & angles
We outlined 3–4 positioning angles (e.g. flavour story, lifestyle, performance) and turned them into title/thumbnail concepts and Shorts hooks.
Phase 2
Main launch video
A 6–9 minute UGC-style piece: founder + athletes, light b-roll, simple scenes. Hooked around why this product exists now, not abstract brand storytelling.
Phase 3
Shorts cutdowns
We cut 6 Shorts from that main piece: flavour reveal, behind-the-scenes, FAQ, hero benefit and a “who this is not for” angle to qualify viewers.
Phase 4
Thumbnail + title A/B
Two thumbnail concepts and a title set per main video: one more branded, one more “UGC/raw” — tested over the launch window.
Phase 5
Publishing & UTM
Uploads with chapters, end-screens and UTM tracking to both the main product page and a “learn more” hub, so performance/brand teams saw assisted impact.
Phase 6
Post-launch recap
We summarised what worked in a short Loom and deck: hooks, thumbnails, titles and Shorts that over-performed; angles to use in future cycles.

Indicative results (demo)

The numbers below are representative ranges we aim for with similar setups, not a claim for any specific brand.

Top-line

  • +31% 7-day view count vs baseline long-form uploads
  • +2.0 pp CTR lift on winning thumbnail vs control
  • Stable delivery cadence (48–72h) across assets

Behaviour

  • Higher 30s retention on Shorts featuring people, not packs
  • Clear drop-offs when content felt too much like an ad
  • More comments around flavour and routine use-cases

Team & learnings

  • Brand team walked away with proven title/angle patterns
  • Paid media had extra “native” creatives to test
  • Clear template for the next launch (and next flavour)
